Which tank or part of the system tends to collect the most moisture and should never be skipped when draining?
- A.Only the smallest tank ever collects water
- B.The supply (wet) tank that first receives air from the compressor, along with every other reservoir on the vehicle
- C.Moisture collects in the brake chambers instead of the tanks
- D.The fuel tank collects brake system moisture
Correct answer
B. The supply (wet) tank that first receives air from the compressor, along with every other reservoir on the vehicle
Why
Air leaving the compressor is warm and moisture-laden, so the first reservoir does much of the condensing work. Every tank still needs draining because moisture and oil migrate through the whole system over time.
