The yellow ABS malfunction lamp stays on after the startup check while you are driving. What does it mean?
- A.The ABS has a fault and may not prevent wheel lockup, but the normal foundation brakes still work and the vehicle should be repaired as soon as practical
- B.All braking is lost and the vehicle must be abandoned
- C.ABS is working at maximum capacity
- D.The lamp means the air tanks are empty
Correct answer
A. The ABS has a fault and may not prevent wheel lockup, but the normal foundation brakes still work and the vehicle should be repaired as soon as practical
Why
The lamp is the system's self-test reporting a problem in the antilock function, not a failure of the basic air brakes. You still have ordinary braking, but you must brake as if ABS were not available and get the fault repaired.
