The low air pressure warning comes on while you are driving. What is the correct response?
- A.Keep driving and watch whether it goes out on its own
- B.Stop safely as soon as possible and park until the cause is found and air pressure is restored
- C.Fan the brakes to build pressure back up
- D.Turn off the buzzer and continue to the destination
Correct answer
B. Stop safely as soon as possible and park until the cause is found and air pressure is restored
Why
Low pressure means the reserve for stopping is disappearing and spring brakes will drag or apply as pressure falls further. Fanning the brakes spends air even faster and makes the emergency worse.
