How can a driver monitor a dual air brake system while driving?
- A.By listening for the exhaust brake tone
- B.By watching only the engine oil pressure gauge
- C.By checking the fuel gauge at each stop
- D.By watching two separate air pressure gauges, or one gauge with two needles, for the primary and secondary tanks
Correct answer
D. By watching two separate air pressure gauges, or one gauge with two needles, for the primary and secondary tanks
Why
Dual systems have a pressure readout for each circuit so a loss in one tank is visible right away. A falling needle on either side warns the driver to stop safely before braking is seriously reduced.
